Gutchess Lumber Inc. is looking for a hardworking, safety-conscious Pallet Material Handler to join our Paul Bunyan Products team. In this role, you aren’t just moving wood; you are a vital part of a production cycle that delivers high-quality lumber products to customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Production & Assembly: Prepare and assemble lumber components to meet specific customer orders and daily production targets.

• Precision Tool Operation: Safely operate industrial equipment, including panel saws, radial arm saws, band saws, and pneumatic nail/staple guns.

• Quality Control: Identify and separate scrap material from usable lumber; direct products for remanufacturing to minimize waste.

• Inventory Accuracy: Take and record precise measurements to ensure all products meet our rigorous quality standards.

• Safety Leadership: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and immediately report any safety hazards or quality issues to the supervisor.

Required Safety Gear

Safety is our #1 priority. All employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including:

• Steel-toed work boots

• Safety glasses & hearing protection (we provide)

• Head protection (hard hat, we provide)

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 75–100 lbs consistently and perform frequent twisting, turning, and bending.

• Mobility: Must be capable of climbing stairs and navigating a production floor.

• Reliability: A proven track record of punctuality and dependability is a must.

• Communication: Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively with teammates.

• Flexibility: Ability to work 1st or 2nd shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
