Inspecting and assigning grades to Green/Dry lumber before it gets sorted. While following NHLA and Gutchess grading guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Shift Schedule:
1st Shift (5:00AM-1:30PM) 2nd Shift: (2:30PM-11:00PM)
8 Hour Shift
Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

• Quality control/ changeovers sorter system
• Follow wane and heavy stock limits
• Take charge of changeovers and combining packs
• Verify lengths and thicknesses are correct
• Wood quality sheets at the end of each run or day
• Audits of consistency and accuracy
• Correct identification and assignment of grade to lumber
• Ability to achieve and sustain a production pace enabling the accomplishment of goals.

Safety:

• Proper lifting Techniques
• ·Steel toed work boots
• Head protection
• Ear protection

Qualifications:

• May be required to lift boards/equipment ranging in weight from 25 – 100 lbs.
• Must be capable of climbing stairs
• frequent twisting, turning, and bending
• Use of a tape measure

Education/Experience:

Years of Experience: Prior sawmill experience stacking lumber or running equipment including but not limited to trimmer, edger, debarker, sawyer, etc.

Education: High School Diploma/ GED

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
